They say its good luck if it rains on your wedding day. Well if that is the case then Kate and Don lucked out because we got some serious rain earlier in the day before their Mary’s at Falls Cottage Wedding. That being said I think it was the best of both worlds because we got some awesome rain shots but then it cleared up and was a beautiful evening for their ceremony and reception! And I have to say they this kind of rain might have rattled some people but not these guys or their wedding party. They were all such a dream to work with and ready to have a good time rain or shine. (And luckily we got both!)
We met up with the wedding parties at the Hampton Inn downtown for some details and getting ready. Then it was time for a first look. As we got outside and setup it was evident that we needed to do it fast because the rain was coming in. And I have to tell you we had just enough time before the bottom fell out. But then we had one of those happy accidents. As it was blowing just about sideways we were trapped underneath an overpass right outside the hotel and boom…..one of the best rain shots we have ever taken. It was like the planets aligned to make us be in this spot as this time. Totally fate. We then ducked inside the Lacy Goat and waited for the rain to settle down. Before too long we were able to take some awesome wedding party photos in the hotel next door and it completely cleared out so we could make our way to the park and take Kate and Don around Falls Park.
The rest of the evening could not have been more perfect. They had an amazing ceremony overlooking Falls Park and the reception was just as beautiful. We even got to sneak out for some epic sunset/twlight shots! I can’t thank Kate and Don enough for being so cool to work with. It has truly been a pleasure getting to know them and I hope they stay in touch!
