Swamp Rabbit Trail Engagement Session – Holly + Ryan – Greenville,SC Photographer
All the elements were there for an epic Swamp Rabbit Trail Engagement Session. A tandem bicycle, fall leaves, perfect temperature, and a newly engaged couple that is obviously perfect for each other. One of the things I love the most about engagement photography is that the couples really get a chance to have fun and do something that truly represents who they are. I get asked all the time for tips on how to make an engagement session the best it can be and my answer is always simple. Make it personal. Holly and Ryan did just that.
They chose the Swamp Rabbit Trail as their location because it is a place that they visit often. Ryan lives about two blocks from it and they are all the time walking down it to the local Swamp Rabbit Grocery an Cafe for breakfast and to shop. (By the way on a side note check that place out. One of the coolest local shops i have seen in a long time.) I love that they decided to ride a tandem bicycle for their session. That was a first for us. We met at the cafe and walked down the trail to the perfect little clearing on a bridge. The fall leaves were perfect. It had rained a little the day before so the ground was still a little wet giving everything the perfect fall look. They took several passes on the bike as I shot photos of them maneuvering this cool but beast of a vehicle. Seriously it is harder to ride one of those than it looks.
We managed to make it back to a spot on the trail with plenty of open sky for what would be an amazing sunset. After that they chose to take some shots back at Ryan’s place while they cooked dinner and in their back yard with their dogs. Warning to all of our future couples Ryan and Holly totally raised the bar because they not only cooked for them but us as well. And I have to say Ryan is a master of the grill! I can’t tell them enough how cool it was to get to hang out with them and really get to know them. One of my favorite things about this job is meeting new cool people and making new friends. I can’t wait for these guys’ wedding next year at Old Cigar Warehouse.
