Downtown Greenville Engagement Photography – Kathryn + Phil
It looked like we might get rained out all day. I was checking the weather every thirty minutes it seemed like. Due to busy schedules we had one shot to shoot Kathryn and Phil’s downtown Greenville engagement session. Normally with the percentages of rain they were calling for and the fact that it had rained some earlier that afternoon we normally would have called it, but sometimes taking a chance pays off. I’ve always said that the best sunsets and “epic clouds” are either right before or after a storm. I guess there really is something to that old saying “Red sky at night, Sailor’s delight” The rain held out for the entire session and the sunset skies had tinges of purple that I have never seen before. And a plus we got some relief from the heat:)
Kathryn and Phil rocked it from the very beginning. They were totally comfortable in front of the camera and the end results show it. Seriously, Kathryn could teach a class on what to do in a engagement session. You can tell she did her homework. We started out at the top of Falls Park in downtown Greenville,SC and went from there down into the park making several stops along the way. As we walked from place to place we talked about everything from wedding planning, to Europe and soccer. (Phil is a coach and also originally from the UK. ) After a quick outfit change we headed to the opposite side of the Park, down near the Wyche pavilion where we shot until the last glimpse of sunlight fell behind the horizon. We had one of the most beautiful skies of the summer that faded from purple into a deep blue. Once again if you take a chance on rain it can payoff big in the sunset department.
I can’t wait for these guys wedding in 2016! Enjoy some of my favorites from the session!
