Swan Lake Sumter SC Engagement Session – Lauren + RJ
When we first talked with Lauren and RJ about shooting their engagement session they both wanted something a little outside the typical locations in Greenville. We threw around the ideas of several places as close as Spartanburg and as far away as Charleston . I then mentioned that we would be in Sumter for a wedding coming up which led to a little research to find Swan Lake. We both agreed on this location site unseen just from photos online and man did we make a good choice. Upon first arrival I knew that their Swan Lake Sumter SC Engagement Session would be epic.
We met up at Swan Lake on a Sunday Afternoon and the weather was perfect. Maybe 69 degrees and ridiculously sunny. The sun seemed to glisten off of all the Spanish moss hanging in the trees. There were beautiful flowers and shrubbery everywhere and of course Swans. I mean….a ton of Swans. And they weren’t phased by people, cameras, or camera flashes going off. It was surreal how close they would let you get. I’ve got a great video of it , but I digress.
We started at a gazebo in the middle of the park then made our way to a really cool disheveled building. There were tons of little spots to shoot. After that we made our way around the park via the boardwalks though a sea of trees with Spanish moss everywhere. It was an absolute stunning place to shoot. Lauren and RJ totally rocked this session and they were a lot of fun to shoot. It was great spending time with them and hearing all about the wedding at the end of the year. We can’t wait!
Here are some of our favorites from the day!
The Spanish moss was hanging on the trees everywhere! It made for the perfect backdrop for some epic shots.
These two were too cute! I love Lauren’s facial expression in the photo above!
The photo above has to be one of my favorites from the day!
The sunlight was beyond perfect peeking through the trees in just the prefect spots.
The crown of flowers that Lauren is wearing was made by RJ himself! The personal touches make such a difference!
