I love shooting at new places that I have never been. Nothing gets my creativity flowing more than the excitement of exploring new places, looking for the light, and that feeling once you press the shutter and know that you just made magic. It’s one of my favorite things about my job. For Jennifer and Ryan’s outdoor engagement session in Greer,SC it was just that. They chose to use Ryan’s family land for a backdrop for the session. It’s the place that he grew up and that they enjoy spending time together at riding four wheelers and building bonfires and just enjoying the outdoors. Let me tell you this place is pretty amazing. I have to admit I’m a little (OK really alot) jealous of having a place like this just at your disposal at any time to enjoy. There are open meadows, a creek, a river, and trails for days. It is truly an outdoor paradise.
When I arrived Ryan and I hopped in an all terrain utility vehicle and he gave me the grand tour of the property. From the first moment I knew that this session was going to rock and I was right! We then went back and met up with Jennifer and headed down to the river bank/beach for some shots with them and Ryan’s dog who is the most well behaved Siberian Husky that I have ever had the pleasure of being around. From the first click of the shutter these two were awesome. You could totally tell how crazy for each other they are!
After the river we strolled though the forest and into the meadows stopping where the light took us. At the end of the evening we made our way back up to the road for sunset. It was truly an epic day and I can’t wait to celebrate their wedding with these two!
Please enjoy some of my favs from the day!
