Stadium Engagement Session – Melissa + Mark- Clemson SC Wedding Photographers
We are blessed with some epic locations to shoot engagement sessions in Upstate South Carolina, but there are few that are more epic than right in the middle of Death Valley in Clemson,SC. For Melissa and Mark’s Stadium Engagement session we chose the day after the annual Orange and White spring game for several reasons. One, the field is actually painted from the game. (During the off season they don’t keep the field painted) The Second reason is they actually let you in on a Sunday and the infamous Howard’s rock is unlocked (according to Anne, when she was a student at Clemson it was always unlocked and open), which since recent vandalism attempts it is locked in a pretty impressive case. But I digress. That place has a certain mojo to it. When you think of all the epic games and great times so many people have spent there it is kinda overwhelming. It was the perfect location to start our session.
We met Melissa and Mark at gate 1 to start our session and the sky was overcast. I was actually worried a few times that we might see some rain even though the forecast was not calling for it. One good thing about overcast skies is it acts like one big softbox as far as the lighting goes. We knew the first place to start was at Howard’s rock. After some shots there the security was nice enough to let us down on the sidelines for a few field level shots. Lucky we started where we did because after a few minutes on the field they were closing up for the day and we had to go. From there we ventured to another one of my favorite spots on Clemson campus near the amphitheater in front of the fountains. We made our way to several spots on campus before an epic finale at the rotunda at President’s park. As our session came to a close we were greeted by some amazing sunlight peeking through the clouds that made for the perfect light for our final shots.
We had a great time with Melissa and Mark and can’t wait for their wedding later this year! Please enjoy some of my favs from the day!
