I love it when couples incorporate personal touched into their pre-wedding photos. When I first talked with Meredith about locations she mentioned the downtown Spartanburg airport and I immediately became excited and full of ideas. Then when she told me why (Adam is a licensed pilot and flight instructor) I got even more excited. Why you might ask, well I’m going to give away one of my secrets forĀ a great session. If you put people in a place that they are comfortable and at home then they are more relaxed which equals amazing photos. Now when that place just happens to be as awesome as an airport with access to some amazing aircraft, well thats a home run. And it was. We had such a great time from the first shot to the last. We got some great stuff in and around some of really cool planes and even got to journey our on the runway for a few shots. (And we even learned a little about what it takes to become a pilot)
These two were a lot of fun and I can’t wait for their wedding this fall!
Here are some of my favorite shots from this awesome session!
What a great view for sunset! Aside from the obviously cool planes another reason the airport was such a great location was the completely unobstructed view of the sunset! We are so accustomed to shooting in downtown areas that it was such a treat to not have to fight buildings or trees to see the amazing colors in the sky!
How epic is that shot! These two look like models!
We even got access to the cockpit of a few planes!
After some time at the Spartanburg Airport we headed to the downtown area for a few shots on the streets like the one above at this awesome mural on the side of one of the buildings.
