Nature truly amazes me sometimes. Well all the time for that matter. How only a few miles in distance and altitude can make all the difference in the world. When we shot Caroline and Will’s Caesar’s Head engagement session it was the morning after having shot one of the abnormally warm fall weddings of our season. So imagine having spent the following day sweating it out at about 90 degrees to the next morning driving up the mountain (less than an hour away mind you) to find a brisk 55 degrees. I was like “Welcome Fall!” Seriously I felt it was finally ok to actually eat something that was pumpkin spice. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. Don’t get me wrong I love summer at the coast , but it doesn’t hold a candle to driving up Caesar’s Head with Anne, windows down, music up at about 60 degrees. Maybe its because I spent so much time up here in my teens, but I just feel at ease in the mountains. Not to be cheesy but I feel it calms the soul. I could go on forever about it but I digress.
We met Caroline and Will at the top of the mountain on a beautiful fall morning and started at the overlook. Wow is all I can say. After spending some time at Caesar’s Head we went back down the mountain for some shots at Bald Rock (another of my favorite places on the planet) These two were a blast to hang out with and I can’t wait to see them again in January for their wedding in North Carolina!
Please enjoy some of my favorites below!

Engagement Session Location : Caesar’s Head and Bald Rock
Traces of fall color were already starting to show when we shot Caroline and Will’s Engagement Session.
The tight space of “Devil’s Kitchen” rock formation make for a perfect spot for ask couples to get close…because there is no other option!
The view from the lookout at Caesar’s Head State Park is beyond breathtaking. At only about an hour outside of Greenville I think it is a must day trip for anyone who has never been.
On the way down the mountain from Caesar’s Head we stopped at the infamous Bald Rock for a few shots to end the morning session.
Hanging out on Bald Rock was the perfect way to end Caroline and Will’s engagement session in the mountains.
