Upcountry History Museum Wedding – Elaine+Alex –
Greenville, SC Wedding Photographers
What an amazing day. When brides choose their wedding date one of the biggest worries or wants of that day is that the weather to be perfect and it just doesn’t get any more perfect than it was for Elaine and Alex’s wedding day. A high of 64 degrees with beautiful bright and sunny blue skies with a hint of fall in the air. Add to the equation an amazing couple that is head over heels in love , an incredible venue, an awesome group of bridesmaids and groomsmen, and a group of family and friends ready to celebrate the day with them and you have a day that wedding photographers like us dream about.
We started off the day hanging out with the girls from Delta Gamma aka. Elaine and her bridesmaids as they were getting the finishing touches done for hair and make-up. Amanda Durham and her assistant did an amazing job. Then it was time for the bridesmaids to help Elaine into her wedding dress. She looked amazing in her dress by Maggie Sotttero. From there it was on to take some shots of the girls outside followed by the guys and then give them some time to relax before the ceremony.
If you have never seen a wedding at The Upcountry History Museum before then you are missing out. Even though I’m sure holding weddings there was an after thought when designing the room it was as if it was made for it. The bridesmaids and groomsmen made their decent down the left staircase as Alex and his son Carter watched from the first floor. Then Elaine made her grand entrance escorted by her father down the right staircase. Danielle Baker performed an beautiful ceremony including a love letter reading that I thought gave it a special personal touch.
After the ceremony it was on to the reception where guest enjoyed food and drinks and mingled until the guys from Uptown Entertainment cranked the party into gear. Justin and his guys always do such a great job and it is a pleasure to work with them. This was definitely a dancing crowd. It’s always fun to watch groups that were in sororities or fraternities dance together because of all the synchronized moves / special dances that they do…and it makes for amazing dancing pictures!
At the end of the evening for the last song one of the groomsmen, Jerome, performed an awesome rendition of Tim McGraw’s hit “Don’t take the Girl” for the bride and groom and it was outside to send the bride and groom off through a sea of sparklers.
We had an amazing time at Alex and Elaine’s wedding and were honored to be a part of such an awesome day with two awesome people!
Please enjoy some of my favorites from the day!
