Rock Quarry Garden Bridal Session – Jenny
One of our favorite places to shoot in the downtown Greenville area is The Rock Quarry Garden. It is a popular wedding venue in town and few don’t know this about the site but it actually was a pre-Civil War granite quarry. It has so much to offer in a smaller park sized setting. This makes it great for bridal session because we can get many different looks without having to hike miles to get them which equals less chance of getting a dress dirty and it doesn’t hurt for keeping the bride’s makeup fresh as well.
Jenny drove all the way up from Sumter,SC for this session and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Greenville was already showing signs of fall weather (one of the reasons that i am in love with my hometown #yeahTHATgreenville ) and the sky was absolutely beautiful. Jenny’s sister Meagan did an awesome job on her hair and makeup and made the trip with her for the shoot. After spending about an hour shooting in the park sunset was getting near and i could already tell that we were getting an amazing sky for the evening so that means there was one thing that we had to do find a spot showing a lot of sky. Now anybody that has ever shot with us know that when inspiration or opportunities like this arise we are not afraid to hop in the car and go in search of the best possible light/sky/background for the shot an that is exactly what we did. After driving a couple of minutes down the road we found the perfect spot in an abandoned parking lot off of Academy street downtown. To most people it probably just looks like an abandoned parking lot, but to us it proved to be an awesome spot to view the sunset with a backdrop of our beautiful city. Add a beautiful bride and voila instant gratification.
Jenny totally rocked this session out and working with people like her makes my job so easy sometimes i have to pinch myself to prove its really happening.
Please enjoy some of my favorites from the session…
